“It was unfortunate. That was essentially an interaction with Cowboys supporters seated near me,” Jones explained during a radio appearance. “There was a swarm of Cowboys fans—not Jets fans, Cowboys fans. The whole venue was filled with excitement for the Dallas team.”
He further emphasized that the signal was entirely unintentional, happening amid the elation following the team’s final touchdown. “I just put up the wrong digit,” he noted. “It was accidentally done. This is sincere. Should you call it unplanned, you can. But it got corrected rapidly.”
