The EU might “act quickly and firmly” against what it deems “unwarranted” travel bans imposed by the US against five European individuals involved in fighting online hate and disinformation, a European Commission spokesperson has said.

Officials from Europe including Emmanuel Macron charged Washington of “coercion and intimidation”, following the travel bans targeted figures who have been central to campaigns to enact laws regulating American tech companies.
