Vinted Shoppers Voice Anger Regarding Sizing Changes
Members of the platform have expressed outrage after an update resulted in products showing incorrect sizing.
The popular resale platform has revised its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel without notifying all users about the change.
Online Platforms Reaction
Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present a different size category than originally posted due to the recalibration.
The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with similar services.
They have suggested members to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually when needed, resulting in member annoyance.
Size Classification Changes
Earlier, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10.
The revised method features a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - for example a size L was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.
Shopper Accounts
Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".
"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.
A different member, from Glasgow, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were displaying on the service as measurements 20-22.
"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she explained.
Manual Updates
A different user, located in England, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing".
"This situation is especially annoying, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she stated.
Service Background
The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK.
It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.
This isn't the first time that an unexpected update within the service has received backlash: last year, Vinted reversed a change regarding delivery choices following member complaints.
